Our art installation was our tent. We forgot the poles and Sammy and Star loaned us some to try to get it put together. Didn't quite work and we were able to use another tent but we left this up and titled it 

"Virgin Burner Error 1"

Food, Glorious Food

No sewing circle would be complete without munchies! And it looks like we'll have some good ones to share, on and off throughout the event.

The lovely and talented Nae will be making White Chocolate, Macadamia Nut Biscotti, Pumpkin Scones, and she'll have some Murphin Ridge Granola. The equally lovely and talented Linda will have blueberry scones and some homemade jerky. I know there's more but I forget everything the ladies have planned.

Bring your own goodies to share with the group as you sit and spin/sew/knit/crochet.

And don't forget, Fiber circles solve the world's problems!

A Quick Choker

Here's a choker that Nae whipped up in a couple of hours. I believe she'll be making more of these at Scorched Nuts and will have the pattern if you're interested:

Lighting the Way

I stopped today to get some electronics kit from Radio Shack and the girl who rang me up asked what it was for. I told her I was making lanterns out of CD ROM cases for Scorched Nuts. Just in case she does follow the link I gave her, here's the short version:

The negative lead of the battery is connected to a simple slide switch. The positive lead of the battery is connected to the positive lead of the LED (a 360-degree white LED from SuperBrightLEDs.com). The negative side of the LED is connected to a 100 ohm, 1/2 watt resistor which is wired up to the other lead of the slide switch. You can see the results of this circuit below, on the right. While the image here is twisted wire, the finished product is soldered, that was what I did today.
