Lighting the Way

I stopped today to get some electronics kit from Radio Shack and the girl who rang me up asked what it was for. I told her I was making lanterns out of CD ROM cases for Scorched Nuts. Just in case she does follow the link I gave her, here's the short version:
The negative lead of the battery is connected to a simple slide switch. The positive lead of the battery is connected to the positive lead of the LED (a 360-degree white LED from SuperBrightLEDs.com). The negative side of the LED is connected to a 100 ohm, 1/2 watt resistor which is wired up to the other lead of the slide switch. You can see the results of this circuit below, on the right. While the image here is twisted wire, the finished product is soldered, that was what I did today.
